Papers
Members of the LEED team having been conducting research into optical circuit-switched networks for over a decade. Our first paper, entitled Helios, Helios described a complete datacenter network including an optical switch and a simple control plane. That paper has been cited over 1100 times.
The work on the Helios project led to a 24 node microsecond-switched network called Mordia and our work on designing a centralized reactive control plane called ReacToR .
The difficulty of building a centralized scheduler led us to investigate new coupled architecture switch designs. Recent work in this area includes Rotornet and Opera . A set of slides describing RotorNet is here .
Our work on building a hardware control plane is called Corundum .
A review of the networking work within LEED is discussed in the following Review Paper .
